COMMERCIAL PROJECT (OCEANARIUM)

Untitled-3 123.png

"O -" stands for oceanarium archive while "SPACE" stands for outer space means space lying beyond the atmosphere surrounding the Earth. The purpose of this project is to design an oceanarium where the ocean marine are conserved for the younger generations to explore as many ocean marines and mammals that were endangered due to human activities as well as climate changes. A place where the citizen gets to experience  and discover about the ocean creatures and their inhabitants. In additional, education and awareness were spread by encouraging the citizen to be more aware of their actions and activities towards the ocean life. Not only they get to experience the ocean creatures physically, but as the world becomes more technological advance, the ocean creatures will also be exhibited in a form of 3D image projection holographic to enhance the users experiences as well as instilling them a sense of wonder.

Project Description

ENDANGERED SPECIES

The mammals and ocean life may soon to be extinct due to the results of human impacts and activities. Hence, if this issue were not taken into consideration, the wildlife will no longer be seen by the future generations.

OCEAN POLLUTION/ DESTRUCTION OF THE HABITAT

Some people were not aware of protecting the ocean life especially for the companies that owns factory as they produce massive toxic chemicals into the sea.

PLASTIC POLLUTION

Ocean animals can become entangled in or ingest plastic debris, causing suffocation, starvation, and drowning. Plastic waste could kill the marine lifes as once they ingested the plastic bags, cannot be digested so it stays in the guts.

CONCEPT

ELEMENTS OF OCEAN MARINES

sketch-shark-swimming-sharks-with-open-m

The form of the facade was inspired by the body parts of a shark. As the body parts of a shark can be used to design all sorts of exterior structures. For instance, the pectoral fin of a shark can be used to design a platform/stair case allowing the people to access while the mouth of the shark can be an open space. A practice called zoomorphic architecture by using animal forms as an inspirational basis and blueprint for architectural design.

MISSION

VISION

To educate and encourage the people to learn more about the ocean life and make all citizens aware of their duty to conserve the marine life by instilling a sense of wonder and experiences throughout the oceanarium.

The ocean life and their inhabitant conservation is a responsibility shared by all. Everyone deserves the chance to explore the ocean wildlife. Therefore we should all take necessary steps to protect all species of ocean wildlife from going extinct.

Aim/ Objectives

AIM/ OBJECTIVES

The aim of this project is to educate and encourage the people to experience, discover and learn about the marine life as well as to spread awareness towards the citizens to be more aware of their duty to conserve the ocean wildlife from going extinct.

SANTIAGO CALATRAVA

Santiago Calatrava Valls is a Spanish architect, structural engineer, sculptor and painter, particularly known for his bridges supported by single leaning pylons, and his railway stations, stadiums, and museums, whose sculptural forms often resemble living organisms.

Santiago Calatrava has used features of an animal's shape and skeletal structure in many of his bridge and buildings projects. (ZOOMORPHIC ARCHITECTURE)

INDOOR ENVIRONMENTAL

HIDDEN SOLAR PANEL

Natural lighting, also known as daylighting, is a technique that efficiently brings natural light into the interior using exterior glazing windows, thereby reducing artificial lighting requirements during the daytime and saving energy.

Simply put, a solar panel works by allowing photons, or particles of light, to knock electrons free from atoms, generating a flow of electricity. Solar panels actually comprise many, smaller units called photovoltaic cells. Simply mean they convert sunlight into electricity.

DOUBLE GLAZING GLASS

COOLING SLAB

Double glazing works by creating an air gap that insulates against heat transfer between two different temperature zones (inside and outside). Because air can't circulate in the narrow gap between the panes, air convection is slowed down and this also reduces heat transfer.

“Natural cooling” systems use evaporative or night sky radiative processes to cool water for building comfort conditioning. Heat is thus discharged from the concrete slabs at night, and the cooled slab passively cools the building the next day.
